- Until Peter finishes with the new Trumpet dialler, you can use any
- communications program that'll redial; just set your modem not to drop carrier

- We have a similar setup here at work, except we are running Lan Manager over
- 3Com Ethernet boards. If your UB cards turn out to be NDIS
- compliant (probably is) then you should be able to use the NDIS shim DIS_PKT9
- driver along with the WINPKT.COM supplied with the Trumpet Winsock. Look in
- the documentation that comes with Trumpet for installing these two drivers.
- They seem to work well here. One place you can FTP the shim from is
- ftp.utas.edu.au /pc/dos/net/ndis/dis_pkt9.zip
- Hope it helps!

- I have seen several notes that reference difficulty
- using the FTP client in Chameleon to access Microsoft's
- public FTP server on the Internet. There is a quick solution.
-
- Users should set the system type to UNIX when connecting to
- Microsoft's FTP server using Chameleon. Interestingly, the machine
- in question is running NT.
-
- Reason is as Follows:
- An NT FTP server can output 2 different formats for a directory
- listing. The default is extended DOS format and that is what the
- Chameleon FTP client expects when it finds an NT server.
-
- However, an NT server can also be configured to output a Unix
- style format. That is what Microsoft has done for
- their Internet FTP server.
